We are about to begin a new Open Enrollment period for Individuals and Families which will run October 1st, 2018 through January 15th, 2019. And, Medicare Recipients will run October 15th through December 7th, 2018.
First and foremost, I hope that 2018 thus far has been a good year for you.
Information for Individual and Family Plans:
The ACA plans will remain the same in 2019. The carriers in each of the Counties are not changing their offerings of the Health Plans that they had available in 2018. The formal premium rates will be released October 1st. Many of you are just starting to receive your renewal notices explaining the small changes in the Health Plans along with the rates for 2019. For our clients that have policies through the exchange with Covered California, it is important to note that Covered California has been active sending out letters notifying you may need to update your Consent Verification to continue to receive APTC tax credits. If you have received one of these letters, then please call our office so that we can get this with your Case File so that you can continue receiving your APTC tax credits and your policy will Automatically Renew. Many of you have received notices asking for an update with your income verification. If you have received this type of notice then it is important that you call so that we can update your income to your Case File so your APTC Tax credits will not be impacted.
If you have an interest to assess your current Health Insurance policy and you may want to make possible changes for 2019, then it would be very important to reach out to me so that we can discuss your plan options and you can pick a Health Plan that will be most suitable for your Health needs going forward into 2019.
For our clients that have Health Insurance policies Off the Exchange and direct with the Insurance Company, if you would like to make policy changes, your timeline to make a change is also the same which runs October 1st through December 15th for a change effective January 1st, 2019. Please call so that can evaluate together what may work best for you going into 2019.
Information for Medicare Recipients:
Annual Enrollment (AEP) runs October 15th through December 7th to make any changes to be effective January 1st, 2019. Most of our clients are with Medicare Supplement Plans and I believe are very happy with the functions of their coverage.
However, it is important to note that this is a time frame of the year if you would like to evaluate your Part D prescription coverage and make sure you are on the right prescription plan going into 2019, then please do call so that I can do an look up with the new formulary guides to see if there may be a better choice for you. This is would be necessary if your monthly prescription needs have changed.
The Medicare Formulary guides are being released on Monday, October 1st, 2018.
Stand Alone Dental and Vision plans:
If you do not have a Dental or Vision plan in place currently, then perhaps it might be a good idea to consider adding a policy to start fresh into the New Year for keeping up of with your Dental and Vision Health.
December 15th is the Deadline to file for any Health Insurance effective January 1st, 2019
If you miss this deadline, then the next time to apply for coverage to be effective February 1st, 2019 runs December 16th through January 15th, 2018.
This next statement must be said....going into 2019 Health Care will not be as drastic in change as we have all experienced in the past 4years. However, there are still changes that are occurring. I truly understand the challenges of making a choice for your personal coverage based on options to providers and affordability. I am committed to each of my clients to help you with a "Needs Analysis" to help you better understand your best options for Medical coverage. We are busy....but your business and continued business is important to me and is truly valued.
Thank you for the Continued Opportunity to be your Insurance Agent through the years.
